Pianist Manuel Schmiedel was born in Germany. Now he is living in New York City where he made a name for himself as one of Europe's most sought after pianists, touring and recording with a wide array of artists. One of them is US jazz guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel. Since relocating to New York, he has kept a busy schedule performing at some of New York’s finest venues and clubs.

Carmen Staaf’s past major performances have included the Playboy Jazz Festival in a two-piano setting with the legendary Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, and Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. She has been heard at the Village Vanguard, Blue Note, SFJazz and major jazz festivals around the world including the Montreal and North Sea Jazz Festivals, among many others.
