Chris van Voorst, Bass

A native of Pownal, currently residing in Brooklyn, NY, Chris has established himself as an in demand bassist and composer in a vibrant New York music scene.
As a bassist, Chris is known for his big sound, lyrical bass lines, and ease with which he plays different styles of music. A busy performer, Chris plays with some of the premier jazz and new music groups in many of New York’s finest venues. He also tours throughout Europe, having played extensively in the Czech Republic, Spain, Turkey and Italy.

Max Light, Guitar

Max Light is a guitarist from the Washington DC area, now living in New York City. His guitar playing and musicianship have garnered him experience and acclaim playing all over the world. He has performed with Donny McCaslin, Jason Palmer, Noah Preminger, Tia Fuller, Ian Froman, Guillermo Klein, Godwin Louis, Tarus Mateen, and Lee Fish among many others. He recently recorded a live album at the legendary Wally’s Jazz Club in Boston with jazz legend Jason Palmer that will be released on Steeplechase in Spring 2018.

Christian Li, Piano

Christian was born in Montreal, Quebec and raised in the
small but musically fruitful town of Horseheads, NY.
Christian leads his own groups and works extensively as a sideman. He has performed at a few festivals, including Newport, Panama, Monterey, Montreux, Detroit, and Jazz En Comminges. He has also performed at a few notable venues, including the Blue Note, Birdland, East Shore, and Carnegie Hall. He has given a talk
at TEDx Chemung Valley. He also arranges strings for Norwegian singer-songwriter Siv
Jakobsen.

Jared Henderson, Bass

Jared Henderson is from the small mountain town of Sisters, Oregon. He studied at Berklee College of Music on a full-ride scholarship and holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Performance. He has worked with artists including Danilo Perez, Dave Liebman, Adam Cruz, Joe Lovano and Chris Cheek.

Jesse Stacken, Piano

Jesse Stacken, "One of the most impressive pianists and composers of his generation" (NYC Jazz Record) has been a vital force on the New York City jazz scene for over a decade. He continually brings freshness to the stage, whether through conceptual ideas or inventive spontaneity. He has led the Jesse Stacken Trio with bassist Eivind Opsvik and drummer Jeff Davis since 2005.

Phil Palombi, Bass

Grammy award winning bassist Phil Palombi is “one of the most sought after bass players in New York City”, according to Steely Dan tenor saxophonist and renowned jazz musician Walt Weiskopf. His performance and recording credits include such players as, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, George Coleman, Maynard Ferguson, Billy Hart, Etta Jones, Dave Liebman and The Village Vanguard Orchestra to name a few. Upon moving to New York City in 1997, he immediately began working full time performing at many of the city’s venues.
